Portable Precision from Rapco

The Rapco 7370 Portable Frequency Standard / Calibration Unit gives precise frequency and time signals in all situations where conventional laboratory instrumentation cannot be used.

The main features of the unit are as follows :

Battery powered for ‘go anywhere’ use.
Retains accurate time and frequency during long periods of field use due to calibration via GPS and high quality internal oscillator.
Low power consumption for long battery life between recharges.
Unique oscillator attitude sensing and compensation for optimal frequency  stability.
Fully automatic battery recharging and oscillator calibration overnight or while travelling via supplied in-car charger.
LED and audible warning of low batteries or approaching calibration limit so all use is within guaranteed levels.
Rugged design and construction for use in all industries and environments.

The 7370 is just one of a family of portable Rapco units designed for military or other demanding applications.

If you need a unit similar to that described above please contact us to discuss your requirements.

800 Series     Modular precision frequency reference systems for use in Calibration Laboratories.

LARGE NUMBER OF USEFUL SPECIAL FUNCTIONS THAT MAY BE APPLIED IN BOTH LARGE-SCALE SYSTEMS, OR IN SMALL SUB-SYSTEMS.
MODULES INDIVIDUALLY AC POWERED.
FREE STANDING OR 19-INCH RACK-MOUNT WITH FOUR UNITS IN EACH 3U HIGH SUB-RACK.

800 series cases are suitable for rack-mounting or bench-top installation. Because they are independent of external dc power supplies, and are fitted with a safe IEC ac power connector, individual modules can also be used in isolation on a shelf or bench top, or retrofitted into small available spaces in existing system racks.

Currently available module types are:

802C

VLF Receiver

(MSF-UK, 60kHz or DCF77-Germany)
For reception of National frequency-reference standard signals.

803

Stand-alone Quartz
oscillator

(5MHz or 10MHz versions)
803M variant, Ultra-low Drift & Phase noise.

807C

Frequency-difference
monitor

(Centre-zero meter, ±1 in 10E9 full scale)
1MHz to 10MHz operating range, with 'difference-alarm' signal output.

808D

Phase-Comparator

With 0 to +1V dc output.
For measurement of relative-phase between two frequency sources.

809A

5 output sinewave
distribution

(+13dBm in 50ohm maximum output)
Unity gain; Variable gain version optional.

810A

5 output timing-pulse distribution

(TTL outputs; will drive 50ohm terminations)
RS422 differential-drive version optional.

820A

5 output sinewave frequency-doubler

(+13dBm in 50ohm maximum output)
5MHz to 10MHz only.

824C/ 825A

Frequency Control module
for 803M

Automatic drift-correction against an external 1Hz or 10MHz reference.

884A

Auto-Changeover unit

Switches between Master and Standby frequency sources. Automatic, manual or remote selection of source

894A

Dial clock driver unit

Will drive up to 15 Moser-Baer Clocks. Requires +24V dc external power supply.

1804 Series - 1804L25, 1804L26
GPS Precision Time
and  Frequency sources

USES SIGNALS FROM THE GPS SATELLITE CONSTELLATION AVAILABLE WORLDWIDE.
VOLTAGE-CONTROLLED QUARTZ OR RUBIDIUM OSCILLATOR CONSTANTLY DRIFT-CORRECTED WITH RESPECT TO THE GPS TRANSMISSION.
VERY-LONG-TERM ACCURACY OF THE OUTPUT APPROACHES THAT OF THE SATELLITES' ATOMIC REFERENCE OSCILLATORS.
UNITS DO NOT REQUIRE CALIBRATION OF INTERNAL OSCILLATORS IN ORDER TO MAINTAIN FULL PERFORMANCE.

RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN 1HZ TIMING OUTPUT AND UTC IS MAINTAINED SO THAT PRECISE RELATIVE TIMING CAN BE ACHIEVED BETWEEN DISTANT INSTALLATIONS.

The 1804 can be used with confidence as a frequency reference for both analogue and digital T.V. & radio transmission, in Cellular networks and for Telecommunications timing. Other applications include military communication systems, satellite ground stations and calibration-laboratory systems, particularly in connection with the development and manufacture of high-technology products. With over 1,200 installations worldwide, the 1804, now in its third-generation, continues to offer an unmatched combination of accuracy, functionality and reliability.

PRODUCT IDENTIFICATION
Products in this family are divided into two main groups, which are:

1804L25xxx - Quartz referenced units

1804L26xxx - Rubidium referenced units

The 1804 is available with a wide range of options; identified by a two or three-character suffix in the type number [xxx in the above examples]

The 1804L25E8A, described below has become virtually an industry standard for numerous broadcast applications, In particular it has been successful for Digital Audio Broadcast (DAB) and Digital Video Broadcast (DVB) in Single Frequency Networks where the control of both Frequency and Timing is crucial.

The Rubidium-reference 1804L26xxx versions offer exceptional accuracy for calibration-standard work or as a Master clock for satellite control centres or Telecommunications Timing. The 'stand-alone' accuracy of the reference oscillator is more than two orders-of-magnitude higher than a Quartz-referenced unit.

Options: see list.

1814 series -- 1814B     Click here for datasheet of typical 1814 variant
GPS synchronised precision time sources.
A lower-cost 'Timing-only' variant of the 1804 series.

APPLICATIONS WHERE TIMING SIGNALS ARE THE ONLY REQUIREMENT AND WHERE RF FREQUENCY REFERENCE OUTPUTS ARE NOT NEEDED.
LOWER COST THAN THE 1804.
GPS-REFERENCED UTC TIMING SIGNAL OF HIGH ACCURACY, WITH OUTPUT INTERFACES THAT ARE APPROPRIATE FOR TIMING APPLICATIONS.

PRODUCT IDENTIFICATION
Products in this series are divided into two main groups, which are:

1814Bxx are Quartz-referenced units
1814Cxx are Rubidium-referenced units

The 1814 is available with some optional features; although these are restricted to those that are relevant to Timing applications. Individual variants are identified by a two-character suffix in the type number [xx in the above examples]. In this 'Timing-only' group, the 1814B1 is the baseline product, which is equipped with a simple TCXO 'keep-alive' reference oscillator, although with Timing from the GPS, accuracy remains similar to that of the 1804.

A full-function RS232 control & monitoring port is standard, with protocols similar to those of the 1804. User-programmable Timecode is also standard (IRIG-A, or IRIG-B, or XR3, or 2137 may be selected)

Options: see list.
